The Nautical Beachfront Resort has mixed reviews, with recent stays highlighting significant issues related to check-in delays, poor room conditions, and unhelpful staff. While the location and pool are frequently praised, recurring complaints center around a lack of communication, construction disruptions, and outdated facilities. Despite some positive experiences, particularly with certain staff members and food quality, the overall experience is frequently disappointing.
Very disappointing stay from start to finish. We arrived at 3:00 PM and were told check-in was at 4:00 PM and that we would receive a text when our room was ready. While waiting, we went to the pool bar for food, which was unfortunately not good at all. By 4:00 PM we still hadn't received a text, so we returned to the front desk at 4:10 PM and were told our room was still not ready. When I asked if housekeeping could prioritize finishing our room since it was already past check-in time, the front desk responded, "We can't, because if we push them, they get upset." I found this response unprofessional and frustrating, especially since guests are expected to adhere to check-in times while the hotel apparently does not. After making that comment, the staff then seemed to change their explanation, saying that while check-in starts at 4:00 PM, it could be 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM before we actually received our room. After going back and forth with the staff for an extended period, they finally suggested moving us to a different room in another building, which was still the exact same room type we had originally paid for. This was a solution they should have offered from the beginning instead of leaving us waiting without being checked in. The room itself was extremely run-down and outdated. There were stains all over the floors, mold visible on the bathroom ceiling, and the mattress was so worn out that you could feel the springs through the bed. The entire room felt neglected and poorly maintained. The hotel also charges resort fees and the only thing remotely "resort-like" was the pool, but in Lake Havasu there are plenty of beaches nearby, so a pool is hardly a unique feature. Between the delayed check-in, rude and unhelpful staff, poor food, and unacceptable room conditions, this was not an experience I would recommend.
We love staying at the Nautical every time we’re in Lake Havasu! Definitely the best location of you’re there for boating. Being able to dock your boat at the resort makes our trip so much more convenient & fun.
We truly wanted to love this place since it was our first time staying here, but unfortunately we left very unimpressed and will not be returning. The biggest issue was the lack of communication about major construction happening during our stay. We were never informed ahead of time, despite the construction affecting the main central area used to access many of the amenities. For a property charging resort fees, this felt especially frustrating because the “resort” experience simply was not there. We also had to wait nearly two days just to get an answer regarding a very reasonable request to waive the resort fee considering the circumstances. Every time we followed up, we were told the manager was “in a meeting.” We never once received a proactive phone call or update, it was entirely on us to continue chasing down an answer, which only added to the frustration. At a certain point, it honestly felt like because this hotel is constantly busy and such a revolving door of guests, management doesn’t feel much urgency to improve the experience because people will continue paying to stay there regardless. That’s disappointing, because hospitality and pride in a property should still matter. Between the construction, cleanliness that did not match the high price point, and the overall cold and unwelcoming attitude from most staff members, the experience fell far below expectations. The one bright spot was Emily from the morning restaurant staff. She was genuinely warm, kind, attentive, and honestly one of the only employees who made us feel welcome during our stay. She deserves recognition for her hospitality. Lake Havasu itself is beautiful, but sadly this hotel experience did not reflect the quality or service we were hoping for.
I have been coming here for three years straight, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a problem until this visit. This time around felt very different. For three days straight, the music played was almost entirely country music, which made the atmosphere feel less inclusive and not very culturally diverse. One of the things I’ve always loved about this place was the culture and welcoming environment, but this visit did not reflect that same experience. Additionally, there was a missing chair on the second floor, which prevented me from being able to sit comfortably with the company I came with. We also experienced an issue with our room where we had no running water in the shower after 12:00 p.m. The only way we could get the shower to run was by turning on the sink faucet at the same time, which was extremely inconvenient during our stay. I did bring these concerns to the staff during my visit, but I honestly felt disregarded as a guest and did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously or addressed appropriately. Overall, I still love this place and the culture it has always provided, which is why this experience stood out so much to me. I hope future stays return to the more inclusive and welcoming atmosphere I’ve always enjoyed here.
This is our first time here. 2 adults and 2 children with special needs, as well as 2 service dogs. We were treated so well at the front desk and throughout our stay. Our fridge wasn’t working and it was fixed/replaced immediately. The night lady with the spiky hair was incredibly sweet and helpful. The one thing that was so unexpected was the FOOD at both the naked turtle and the turtle grill. The food was amazing. We couldn’t believe we weren’t at a 5 star restaurant. Everything was delicious. Such a nice surprise! We cannot wait to come back. Honestly such a nice stay.
